Anderson localization induced by complex potential

چکیده

Uncorrelated disorder potential in one-dimensional lattice definitely induces Anderson localization, while quasiperiodic can lead to both localized and extended phases, depending on the strength. We investigate localization with nonHermitian complex potential. present a non-Hermitian SSH chain demonstrate that nonzero imaginary on-site induce standard localization. also show Aubry-Andre (AA) model exhibits transition parameter space, which separates delocalization phases is determined by self-duality of model. It indicates pure takes same role as real point between delocalization. Remarkably, system interference-like pattern points.

Quantum non-Markovianity induced by Anderson localization

As discovered by P. W. Anderson, excitations do not propagate freely in a disordered lattice, but, due to destructive interference, they localise. As a consequence, when an atom interacts with a disordered lattice, one indeed observes a non-trivial excitation exchange between atom and lattice. Such non-trivial atomic dynamics will in general be characterised also by a non-trivial quantum inform...

Coherent forward scattering peak induced by Anderson localization.

Numerical simulations show that, at the onset of Anderson localization, the momentum distribution of a coherent wave packet launched inside a random potential exhibits, in the forward direction, a novel interference peak that complements the coherent backscattering peak. An explanation of this phenomenon in terms of maximally crossed diagrams predicts that the signal emerges around the localiza...

Anderson Localization

From the start of their studies students in condensed matter physics are exposed to ordered systems. These systems can be very simple and give insight into the physics of many materials. However it seems that much of what is learned in ordered systems cannot be brought to disordered systems. Instead new conceptual understandings much be reached will very different consquences. One of these is t...

Localization for an Anderson-Bernoulli model with generic interaction potential

We present a result of localization for a matrix-valued AndersonBernoulli operator, acting on L2(R) ⊗ R , for an arbitrary N ≥ 1, whose interaction potential is generic in the real symmetric matrices. For such a generic real symmetric matrix, we construct an explicit interval of energies on which we prove localization, in both spectral and dynamical senses, away from a finite set of critical en...

Anderson localization in metamaterials and other complex media (Review Article)

This is a review of some recent (mostly ours) results on Anderson localization of light and electron waves in complex disordered systems, including: (i) left-handed metamaterials, (ii) magnetoactive optical structures, (iii) graphene superlattices, and (iv) nonlinear dielectric media. First, we demonstrate that left-handed metamaterials can significantly suppress localization of light and lead ...
